Preparing to build Pipistrelle devices

There are several stages, which we cover in the following pages:

1. Tools required to help with assembly
2. Order PCB, stencils and covers from PCBway in China (8-10 days)
   • Printed circuit boards (PCBs), stencils for solder paste and 3D printed back covers.
3. Order components from DigiKey in US (next working day!)
   • All components & solder paste. There are prepared lists for each device.
     Option: To save money, order components from AlliExpress (8-10 days)
     • Pico, battery holder, headphone jack, switch, broach clip … etc
4. Buy Accessories: Such as cables and cases.
5. Prepare PCBs. Remove offcuts, countersink Mic hole & check Mic contacts.
6. Make stencil framework: Glue offcuts to make framework to hold PCB and stencil
7. Load Firmware: Flash the Pico with the latest downloaded from pippyg.com
